Meetings and Show Information |
Meetings are held at 95 Gathering Place 865 North Colony Road. Wallingford, Ct 06492. Tel: 203-265-1552 www.95gatheringplace.com 6:30pm Cocktails and 7pm Dinner. Everyone is welcome, not just club members. For dinner reservations please call MaryEllen Pardee at 203-929-4205, by the Sunday before the meeting date. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday on odd months. Meeting dates for 2009: March 17th May 19th July 21st September 15th September 18th our 54th annual specialty show November 17th (awards & election of officers) Directions to club meetings at "95 Gathering Place". Rt 15 North or South to Exit 66. Go left off ramp onto Rt 5 South. Continue South approx. 3/4 of a mile passing Super Stop and Shop (on left) and a car dealership (right); 95 Gathering Place will be on the right side after the car dealership. I-91 South to exit 15 (Durham Yalesville). Right off exit onto RT 68 west. At the 5th working traffic light (major 4 way intersection at bottom of hill), turn left onto North Main Street extension. This road goes past the back side of Stop and Shop. At the 2nd light turn right onto Ives Rd and RT 5. 95 Gathering Place will be facing you directly across the intersection. |
Membership |
Membership guidelines Eligibility: As stated in our by-laws, there is one type of membership. A person must be over 18 years of age, one who owns, breeds, exhibits or judges poodles, and must be in good standing with the American Kennel Club. Membership is unrestricted as to where you live, but we do try to represent the breeders and exhibitors of the immediate area. Election to Membership: Each applicant for membership as it is stated in the by-laws is required to attend 2 meetings of the club before they can apply. Their application must have two signatures (endorsements) of club members. *Once they have submitted their application, the applicant is required to work at one event or function of the club. Example the Olympics (spring) or the point show (September). Your application will be read by the Board at the next Board meeting. They will then vote on it (needs majority vote by the board). At the next meeting you will be presented to the membership for consideration. You must then attend 2 more meetings of the club. After completing this you will then be voted on (you need a 3/4 vote of those present). The word ?emeeting? means major club activities, such as meetings, shows, parties, etc. Total attendance required is 4. Applicants for membership that are rejected by the club cannot reapply for 6 months after the rejection. Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
